Spare parts #13 - Making A Square Broach

3/27/2016

It's not necessarily a common event, but when you need to make a square hole, it can be difficult to get a precise result. One of the best methods to achieve a professional cut is to use a custom made broach, so in this video I go through the process of making one from scratch.

This particular broach is used in an upcoming episode of the clock build, so keep an eye out for that video too.

Cheers,
Chris.

Heat Bluing A Set Of Steel Clock Hands

3/20/2016

Hi Folks

My day job has been keeping me out of the shop lately, and I very much appreciate your patience waiting for new content.

This first video in a set of 3 relating to fitting the motion work and hands to the current clock build, is a more detailed investigation of the heat bluing process. There's some fascinating science involved, and more than a small amount of good luck required to get the final deep blue color.

By the way, if you would like to help me create these videos, consider throwing in a few dollars of support via Patreon.

Cheers,
Chris.
