Not a new video as such, but there are a few bits and pieces in there you might like, from soon to be released video's. Pass it on to any of your friends that you think might be tempted.

Hi Chris,

1)....I WANT that filing machine!....2)if you could CNC the jig then why not CNC the actual spokes?...seems logical and there's no point 'reinventing the wheel', quite literally in this case! .....3) Was the jig hardened and tempered so you could file right up to it's edge? 4)...Lovely work, bye the way! 5)...You might want to make a vid of the burnishers and how you make them as people have probs with this,....Also, have you thought about a vid showing tool grinding since you apear to get excellent cut and finish when turning,..just a thought 6) Can't wait for the next vid........

Hey Bob, thanks for the questions!

1./ I can't imagine not having it now, it's just so useful. Head over here for the castings: http://www.statecollegecentral.com/metallathe/MLA-18.html
2./ I made the jig manually too. I used the CAD program for geometry, but laid it out and then milled with my analog mill. I might move into the 21st century at some point though!
3./ Its just soft mild steel. I don't like to run files up against hardened steel, especially the ones I keep for brass. Once the jig gets chewed out, I can just make another one. Cheaper than the files.
4./ Thank you!
5./ That's a great idea. I'm thinking about doing a short video series on things like that; I'll add it to the list.
6./ New one out on Tuesday!

Cheers,
Chris.
