I've been meaning to cover this part of the build for some time, but I've been held up searching for something special to use as the timber base. A few weeks ago I found what I've been looking for - An incredible piece of Red Mallee burl, courtesy of Djarilmari timbers in Western Australia (http://www.djarilmari.com ). If you buy Australian hardwood burl in the US, chances are it was sourced from Djarilmari.
