Delicate Scriber/Pick
It's not the most exciting tool in the box, but it definitely is the most used. Actually its kind of amazing how a simple little thing like this is so useful.
From scribing mark out lines, to picking out little bits of photo-resist, to prodding and poking whatever needs it, this little scriber gets used every day without fail.
I made it from a piece of scrap 3/16" brass rod, and a sewing needle.

The needle was let into a small hole in the end, and fastened with Loctite.
The grooves were put in to make it nice to hold, and were done on the Sherline lathe; 0.5mm plunge cuts, at 2mm intervals. The little taper at the pointy end was done on the same machine.
A simple quick project, and one of my favourite tools.
** Update 12th July 2015 **
I recently remade this tool as a project for Make: magazine. Check out the video here.
